WED 2012: Mangrove on ROCK

YPMMD together with the fishermen and farmers' family planted mangrove in WED 2012. from 6 - 8 June 2012, we have planted 4880 mangrove on dead coral reef.
These activities break the theory of the mangroves, which can only grow and plant on muddy areas. Since 1990, YPMMD with the community, youth and children of fishermen, have planted 80 hectares or about 800,000 propagules by self-supported.
Now, about 85% are in good condition. Environmental goods for communities are:
a. Wood for construction and energy, mainly used by local populations;
b. Products from fisheries: fishes, crabs and shrimps; and
c. Feed for livestock (goat and cow).
These environmental goods and services are vital for local populations, usually among the poorest and the most dependent on the natural ecosystems
